Week 1 Done!

Well done Room 9 on a great first (short) week! It has been great meeting you all and I am really looking forward to the year ahead.

During the week we have been discussing the following:
What makes a great classroom?
What makes a great student?
What makes a great teacher?

Below you can see a selection of some of the adjectives we came up with as a class...

Hi Charlotte

I gave out a stationery list on the first day (with newsletter to parents), but if you can't find that don't worry we can just sort it out tomorrow at school :)

Well today I wached Gary the Worm by George St. school. It was all about the different sorts of worms that live in the Otago harbour. They saw ones that dig in the ground and ones that swim around. They looked at the worms through microscopes and found that they had hairy feet to help them move and some had claws. The teacher said they should think like a worm to see how to live like a worm. Their favourite worm was the filadocein worm - they just don't stop moving! The movie changed to be from Gary the Worm's point of view and he was getting sick of all the kids so he escaped and crawled through the ground to the Otago harbour. He tried to recruit some new friends to clean up the bottom of the Otago harbour. In the end he found a shark, jelly fish, scale and lug worms. Together they cleaned all the Otago harbour.
